Hello! This is Representative Sugii's blog.
I hope you enjoy reading it.
Our baby has always had good bowel movements, passing stool easily since soon after birth.
Around 3 months old, poop leaks started occurring once or twice a week.
Around 4 months old, poop leaks were happening more than three times a week, LOL.
Having experienced this, I wanted to share some thoughts on preparing for poop leaks, hoping it might be helpful for those who are expecting soon.

・What is a poop leak?
It's a situation where a large amount of poop comes out all at once, leaking out of the diaper and staining the crotch area or back of a romper (a baby's one-piece garment that connects the upper and lower body).
・Causes of poop leaks *Based on our family's experience
① Only urine comes out while sleeping, then a large amount comes out about an hour after waking up.
② After breastfeeding, the baby is placed in a bouncer. We often hear a "buh-buh-buh" sound when the baby is in the bouncer.
③ Our baby tended to arch their back strongly from around 3 months old, and when arching, a gap would form in the diaper, allowing poop to leak out.
・Measures against poop leaks
① Try folding down the back of the diaper.
② If you hear "buh-buh-buh" when the baby has just woken up or hasn't pooped in a while, check immediately.
③ Be mindful when the baby is in the bouncer after breastfeeding.
・How to wash clothes stained with poop
① Wash with hand soap or body soap.
② If the poop stains don't come out at the above stage, expose them to direct sunlight.
③ Wash in the washing machine with regular laundry.
Even stubborn stains have been mostly removed by following these steps up to stage ③, as of 4 months old.
Well then, please enjoy your fun life with your baby!
