[How to Change a Diaper]

Hello, this is a blog about parenting from a husband and wife.

After childbirth, mothers are taught how to change diapers at the hospital.

Fathers, however, are not taught.

Even when I went to the hospital with my wife, the doctor always spoke directly to her, which made me feel a little sad, haha.

But I guess that's how fathers learn to parent — by being taught by their wives.

※The methods described here are just examples, so please use them as a reference.

■ Diaper Changing Overview

① Diaper changing process

② When to change diapers (when they smell, before/after feeding)

③ Diaper changing precautions: white stool is dangerous, is the baby constipated?

① Diaper changing process

・Spread a new tape-style diaper and place it under the worn diaper (not possible with pant-style diapers)

・Take a wet wipe, warm it in your hand, then remove and open the worn diaper.

・Wipe from top to bottom to prevent the stool from spreading, cleaning thoroughly.

・Roll up the used diaper with the wet wipes inside, then fold the sides inward with the belts to make it compact.

・Place the changed diaper in an odor-proof bag (we use bread bags).

② When to change diapers

・When the diaper smells, or when the indicator line on the diaper turns blue.

・Before/after feeding (before feeding is recommended as it reduces spit-up, but babies might cry, haha).

③ Diaper changing precautions

・Stool color: White stool likely means the baby isn't absorbing milk well. Consult a doctor.

・Bowel movements: If the baby is constipated, stimulate them with a cotton swab, etc.

・Interact with your baby: If you change diapers with a smile, the baby might also smile just by coming to the diaper changing area. That alone brings happiness.

So, enjoy your life with your baby.
